Dr. Carter is the first psychologist that gave my 17 year old son faith in his treatment and therapy. When my son worked with other psychologists, he always said it didn’t help or change things for him. My son went through complete neuropsych testing recommended by his psychiatrist. After the testing was completed, I had no understanding of the findings and how they could be addressed or treated despite an “explanation” by the testing psychologist and his psychiatrist.
When my son began with Dr Carter, Dr. Carter asked for a copy of the test results and he explained my son’s processing deficit and Asperger’s syndrome extremely well, so that I could understand what my son has been going through all these years! He helped me and my son’s school to understand what things can help my son and what things my son needs to work on himself. Dr. Carter has invaluable experience with autistic spectrum disorders and more importantly for my 17 yr old son, with processing deficits. He worked in a residential program [Telos RTC] that has unique tools and strategies for kids like my son. Dr. Carter has a working knowledge of how to approach these things.
Dr. Carter truly enjoys working with clients that have autistic spectrum and ADHD issues. He is positive, encouraging and my son felt very comfortable with him. He has compassion and a true fondness for those with these diagnoses. Because of Dr. Carter, I see many good things ahead for my son. He is truly an asset.
